| Exploration of Movement | September 26-27, 2009 9:30am to 5:30 pm | Reno, NV |
Society of Ortho-Bionomy International®
Introduction/Refresher - Learn (or refresh) the history, philosophy and concepts of Ortho-Bionomy as well as specific positioning techniques based on student's needs. These techniques help release/reduce pain and neuro-muscular tension patterns and increase range of motion. BACK to schedule
Phase 4 - Extremities - This basics class covers the history, philosophy and concepts of Ortho-Bionomy and specific positioning techniques for the shoulders, clavicle, elbow, wrist/hands, femur rotation, knee, ankle/feet. These techniques help to release pain and neuro muscular tension patterns promoting expanded range of motion, increased circulation, and a greater sense of well-being. BACK to schedule
Isometrics - Isometric and isotonic techniques for working with inefficient muscular tension patterns as well as underdeveloped muscle tone are presented and practiced. Through the use of restraining movement while the muscle is engaged, self-correcting reflexes are stimulated and habitual holding patterns can be released. Participants learn how the conscious use of obstacles can help promote change from rigid physical patterns to greater mobility and allows the client to actively participate in the session. BACK to schedule
Phase 4 - Spine - This basics class covers the history, philosophy and concepts of Ortho-Bionomy and specific positioning techniques for the neck, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, pelvis, ribs and psoas muscle. BACK to schedule
Exploration of Movement
- Exploration of Movement Patterns adds a dynamic dimension to the positional
release techniques. Participants will learn to recognize and palpate
patterns of joint and muscle movement in order to facilitate increased range of
motion, flexibility and comfort. By gently exploring and supporting
preferred patterns of movement or stillness, the client is invited to actively
participate and recognize their patterns. These techniques help to release pain
and neuromuscular tension patterns promoting expanded range of motion, increased
circulation, and a greater sense of well-being.
Fine Tune Subtle Touch - Part I - (Phase 5) - In this class we will fine tune skills to facilitate change in the body and move to a more subtle level of awareness. Specific techniques develop and increase the student's understanding and proprioceptive sensitivity to the self-corrective movements initiated by the client. These techniques may be useful for many situations including stubborn holding patterns where you’ve tried everything else and nothing seems to quite achieve the relaxation you might hope for! We will explore deeper ways to facilitate the release of muscular tension and overall stress by fine tuning how we work with clients and how their body can help us help them. These techniques help to release pain and neuromuscular tension patterns promoting expanded range of motion, increased circulation, and a greater sense of well-being. BACK to schedule
Fine Tune Subtle Touch - Part II - (Phase 6) This class is designed to help participants access and track sensation and energetic perception in themselves and in their clients, and to learn how to make contact without necessarily engaging physically. Techniques will be presented that monitor and acknowledge the inter-relationship between energetic, emotional and physical levels and that demonstrate how energetic shifts can affect changes in physical patterns. BACK to schedule
Trauma Resolution - The principles and techniques of Ortho-Bionomy can be applied in many different circumstances and situations. Elective courses provide participants with more specialized techniques and applications. In this class we will explore using Ortho-Bionomy principles to help release the residual effects from surgery, accidents, injuries, scar tissue, etc by physically and energetically working with the cells, tissues and organs to encourage and re-establish balance, movement and flow in the body. This also helps rebalance from emotional trauma, which often locks into the physical body. BACK to schedule
